He targeted children, the most vulnerable in society, and he chose his victims from poor families in poverty stricken regions of South America. Lopez is one of the sickest, most evil men to ever walk the earth. And it’s just as well, because the first time he was arrested and detained he managed to escape, killing many more young girls before they caught him again. He was sentenced to death and then promptly executed in 2004. He would break into his victim’s homes at night and butcher them with all kinds of tools, including axes, shovels and more. He is deserving of his place on any list of the world’s worst serial killers because of his brutality as well as the number of victims. Known as the Monster Killer, Yang Xinhai was active for just three years at the turn of the new millennium, but in that time he became China’s and Asia’s most prolific serial killer. He murdered 53 women and children and eventually faced execution in 1994. In fact, for over a decade that’s exactly what he did. After seeing that, he must have thought he was invincible and could get away with murder. One of the most disturbing things about The Red Ripper is that a different man was convicted and executed for his first murder. Easily one of the most evil Russian serial killers ever. However, he was only ever convicted for the murders he committed in his home country, crimes for which he eventually received a life sentence (after a death sentence was commuted). It’s a logical conclusion to suggest that he killed during his years of traveling, considering just how active he was before and after. In the interim years he was traveling through Europe. Ridgway, who was sentenced to life without parole, targeted sex workers in Seattle, with many of his crimes going unnoticed.Ĭitizen O, also known as The Beast of Ukraine, killed 9 people in Ukraine in 1989 and then added to that number in 1995. And as you can see from our Highest Murder Rate in the US guide, hey have had their fair share. He is not the most well known US serial killer, but with a victim count of 49 and a suspected count of 90+, he really is one of the worst serial killers this country and this world has seen. The only entry for the US on this list of the worst serial killers, Gary Ridgway is definitely deserving of his place on this list. There were killers-and in some case still are killers-that are much worse. So, that’s why you won’t final Dr Death Harold Shipman and baby killer Amelia Elizabeth Dyer. These are the ones we will concentrate on here. But these murderers killed in the dozens and there are serial killers out there with hundreds of victims to their name. These names include clown killer John Wayne Gacy necrophile Jeffry Dahmer charmer Ted Bundy and Victorian slasher Jack the Ripper. It easily bests the Jawbone Jambox, which just isn't well suited for outdoor use - especially if it's windy. You're dealing with wind and ambient noise and what a lot of folks are looking for is a portable speaker that can play loud and sound decent doing it - and that's just what the Boom can do. If it has a deficiency, it just doesn't deliver a ton of bass, though few if any of these small speakers put out great low end. I've listened to a lot of these compact Bluetooth speakers and the Boom plays very loud for its size. The Boom comes in packaging reminiscent of that of premium Scotch. It helps make pairing a device easier, but it really doesn't save any time. There's also NFC support - sometimes referred to as "tap-to-pair" - which works with certain smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4. (Certain smartphones, such as the Samsung's Galaxy S3 and S4, support aptX streaming, which allegedly offers better sound quality for Bluetooth transmission, though it matters less with smaller speakers such as the Boom.) And while there's currently no aptX support, company reps said that could be added at some point through a software upgrade. The speaker will remember up to eight devices it's been paired with, which makes it easier to make a connection once you've set up the initial pairing. I also tested it with a Samsung Galaxy S4 and achieved similar range. But outside 50 feet isn't as far as you think the connection with my iPhone 4S started to break up when I walked off into the yard with my phone (I looked back at the speaker on the patio and calculated that yes, indeed, I was at right around the 50-foot mark give or take a few feet). UE says the speaker has a range of about 50 feet, which is better than the usual 33 feet that your typical Bluetooth speaker is rated for. Wet resistive gel electrodes will dehydrate after a few days of usage, eventually limiting long-term usability and reducing the quality of the signal over time. In the past few years, sensors and technologies have been proposed to allow monitoring of patients at home and in everyday activities, with the majority being single-lead ECG solutions (also known as health patches), which in most cases rely on using wet resistive gel electrodes. These results can improve CVD diagnosis and AF detection in real-world scenarios. It was observed that the quality was higher during the nights, confirming the link with motion artifacts. ![]() In particular, we provide insights into signal quality degradation over time, while changes in the average ECG quality per day were present, these changes were not statistically significant. This paper analyzes the signal quality of ECG signals obtained using a single-lead ECG patch featuring self-adhesive dry electrode technology collected from six cardiac patients for 5 days. ECG monitoring patches allowing ambulatory patient monitoring over several days represent a novel technology, while we witness a significant proliferation of ECG monitoring patches on the market and in the research labs, their performance over a long period of time is not fully characterized. Therefore, developing technologies and tools to diagnose CVD in a timely way and detect AF is an important research topic. When implemented in the healthcare system this can ease the existing socio-economic burden on health institutions and government. Early and timely diagnosis of CVD is essential for successful treatment.
